What is Unit of account

Unit of Account is an expression used in economics to denote the capability of money to assign and compare the value of things, the same way kilograms are used to measure and compare the mass of different objects. Since the value of fiat money itself can change due to, for example, inflation or deflation, it does not always represent a suitable unit of account.
