What is Whitelist
A whitelist could have different meanings depending on the setting in which the term is used. It is often used to refer to a directory of email addresses and some other identifying data of individual investors or companies who are interested in an initial coin offering (ICO) of a crypto project. Interested entities ask to be added to a project’s whitelist to make sure they receive relevant information and updates about the project.
When it comes to withdrawal addresses, a whitelist is used on crypto exchange to denote a list of secure addresses to which resources could be withdrawn to.
In a network security setting, a whitelist can also be utilized to refer to a list of authorized addresses that are permitted to connect to a network.
