What is Hard cap

A hard cap is the upper bound of the supply of a certain cryptocurrency or digital asset. It is specified in a blockchain code. Once reached, that specific digital currency can no longer be created or circulated.

 

In the context of an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), a hard cap represents the maximum amount of tokens that could be sold related to the funds the project developing team intends to gather.
