What is Gwei
Gwei is short for gigawei and is interchangeable with the term “nanoether”. It is a small fraction of the digital currency Ether, equivalent to 0.000000001 Ether.
It is used to postulate “gas” prices consumed conducting smart contracts or verifying transactions. Gwei also has many other slang notations named after prominent figures who have contributed to cryptography or Ether in some way.
